I want that for BREAKFAST

I know this pic is HUGE but it was beautiful and I wanted to share :)

Good morning early birds! Welcome to I want that for breakfast. I like to think I make a good breakfast everyday, so I will begin to share some of my tips and recipes to start your day off right!

Today on the breakfast menu? Spanish Latte. Ay mami this is a good one.

This is a quick and inexpensive way to turn your morning (average) joe into an extraordinary latte.

Unfortunately I didn’t create this latte on my own. I had it for the first time at Odradeks coffee shop in Queens, where I reside. If you haven’t been there, you are pretty much missing out on the best coffee (and food!) in the tri state area. (For you guys in LA you know Coffee Bean reigns supreme!) Odradeks has a plethora of interesting drinks including their famous Shoddie- which is a pint of ice cream and any mix-ins you can think of- with coffee. Let’s just say go check it out yourself, and thank me later!

Back to this wonderful latte. Spanish latte consists of coffee, sweetened condensed milk, and milk/ cream. THATS IT! Simple, inexpensive, and wonderful. Be careful to not become addicted dear readers, 1 tablespoon is a whopping 130 calories. I enjoy this as my ‘chocolate and ice cream fix of the day.’ Eat a salad later, just to enjoy your latte!

Directions

  • Add one teaspoon/ tablespoon (depending on how sweet you like your coffee) of sweetened condensed milk in a microwave safe coffee mug
  • Pour in as much milk or half & half you like to drink in your coffee
  • Microwave for 20 seconds
  • If you are lucky to own a frother, now whip the two milks together for 20 seconds until thick and foamy
  • Add your desired amount of coffee, relax, take your first sip, smile even bigger, and of course… ENJOY!
